Mirror of Erised
Add a piece of mirror to a simple picture frame, paint the frame gold and add the quote, and voila! Mirror of Erised.
The three-bulb light fixture provides more than enough light in the Room of Requirement, and we found the antique-style glass globes to complement the decor. The addition of Nagini adds to the feel of being in Harry's world.
Bathroom full view
A fairly full view of the room. There's a tiny shelf on the far wall that covers the pipes, possibly the very pipes that the basilisk traveled through, when roaming Hogwarts Castle.
Out of Bounds Sign
When you're ready to occupy the room, you might want to switch the sign to this message.
Room of Requirement
When you leave, switch this reversible sign to this message, to show guests that it is available.
Message from the Heir of Slytherin
This wall to the side of the shower has a message from the heir of Slytherin regarding the Chamber of Secrets. We painted it in red, and covered it with a glow in the dark paint.
Room of Requirement
This bathroom is so functional and spacious, even though it measures just under eight feet wide and roughly 42" deep.
Daily Prophet Towels
If you care to do a little reading in the Room of Requirements, enjoy these Daily Prophet hand towels.
Hogwarts Shower Curtain
The Hogwarts crest shower curtain provides a lot of color in the room.
Mermaid in the Prefects bath
This must be a prefects bathroom, since the mermaid is hanging around. This is another of the window clings designed to create a stained glass look.
Snake on Bathroom faucet
We found this cute snake jewelry piece, which fits perfectly over the sink faucet handle.
Large showers are not too easy to come by in a tiny house, but we still went with a 40" base and a 36" shower surround with built-in shelves for a little luxury. The bronze shower nozzle and handle create a nice old-world feel in the room.
Ministry of Magic sign
Love this Ministry of Magic sign hanging on the wall behind the toilet.
Inside hidden box behind Moaning Myrtle
Behind Moaning Myrtle in the shadow box, we have some goodies: a wand (possibly Myrtle's?), Tom Riddle's diary and the invisibility ink pen that accompanied it, one of the lenticular postcards of the message written to Harry by Tom, and a small basilisk fang.
Lion Door Knocker copy
For the bathroom door, we found this really cool heavy metal lion door knocker.
This signed print by Shirley Henderson is framed in a shadow box, in which we have hidden a few items, including a horcrux!
We built this bathroom vanity from some scrap wood and siding, added a screen, cute knob and some decorative hardware to dress it up a little. The top is colored with a mix of stain and paint, and finished off with a few coats of poly.
We bought this Anzzi glass sink bowl and added some photos for memories to create a pensieve look.
